U.S. English, Inc. today recognized Monty Newman, Greg Sowards and Aubrey Dunn, Jr., candidates for the New Mexico’s Second Congressional District, for pledging to support official English legislation. These individuals have pledged to “sponsor legislation to make English the official language of the United States government” if elected to Congress.

Newman, Sowards and Dunn are running for the Republican nomination for the seat currently held by Rep. Steve Pearce (NM-2). Pearce is running for New Mexico’s open Senate seat in November.

The primary election is scheduled for June 3.

U.S. English, Inc. is the nation's oldest and largest non-partisan citizens' action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States.
