Rep. Elton Gallegly (CA-24) today became the newest co-sponsor of H.R. 997, the English Language Unity Act. The bill now has 148 co-sponsors.

Rep. Gallegly has been representing California’s 24th District since January 1987. He was a co-sponsor of official English legislation in the 101st, 102nd, 104th, 105th and 110th Congresses. He also voted in support of legislation to make English the official language of the United States (H.R. 123) in the 104th Congress.
