After 16 years in the Idaho Legislature, Rep. Bill Sali was elected to Congress in 2006. During his two-year term representing Idaho’s First Congressional District, Rep. Sali has fought to reduce government multilingualism and promote policies that encourage English fluency.
The son of an immigrant father, Rep. Sali has personal knowledge of the important role the English language played in his father’s life. Earlier this year, he sat down with representatives from U.S. English, Inc. to discuss how English fluency allowed his father to become a physicist on one of America’s first nuclear projects.
